Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb to Hold Election

The Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb will hold elections on August 1, 2011. Persons interested in seeking a position on the Tribal Council must qualify by July 1, 2011 to be included on the ballot. Ballots will be mailed to Tribal members during the second week of July.

Persons wishing to qualify for these positions must complete a “Letter of Intent” Form (available at the Tribal Office) and meet the following requirements:

1. Be an enrolled member in good standing
2. Be at least 25 years of age by election day
3. Be a resident of the State of Louisiana
4. Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent

Term of office is three years and Council meetings are held once a month. Applicants must be able and willing to attend at least 75% of meetings in any one year period.
